A rather magnificent, flattened Dauphin' habit Quartz crystal of overall great clarity and skeletal morphology. This ex-matrix crystal is from Schinhörner in the Geisspfad mountain area of the Binn Valley, Wallis canton, Switzerland. The crystal measures 14.1 x 4.5 x 3.1 cm; has a slight, very pale sherry smokiness, over half of which is optically clear enough to allow the reading of fine print through the crystal. The lower half becomes more cloudy, the dividing line between the transparent and translucent sections forming a steeply sloping diagonal within the crystal. The etched skeletal habit is excellent and on one of the broader prism faces, many depressions throughout the skeletal texture are coated with light olive-green Chlorite. Ex André Gorsatt and Christian Weise.
