An aesthetic ex-matrix cluster of well developed and almost colourless Quartz crystals from alpine-type fissures in the Strem Valley of Grischun canton, Switzerland. The crystals have a slight smokiness of the palest Champagne verging on colourless and are almost perfectly transparent and gemmy. The Quartz forms regular hexagonal crystals with symmetric, equant prism faces and terminations, with no visible damage anywhere. The flat base, which would appear to have been tectonically cleaved at some stage, is completely overgrown with mm to sub-mm clear Quartz crystals, granular Quartz and 1 to 2 mm rhombic Adularia crystals. A showy alpine-type Swiss Quartz group from the Strem Valley.
