A surface of translucent Quartz crystals, averaging 5 mm, with a brown iron oxide coating, creates a fine contrast to the somewhat acidic lime green Pyromorphite crystals covering the Quartz. From Roughton Gill mine in the Caldbeck Fells of Cumbria, England, the Pyromorphite forms lustrous, tapering hexagonal crystals to 6 mm in length in radiating clusters. An aesthetic small cabinet specimen from the famous Roughton Gill mine.
