There are few mines in the world that have produced unique forms of Pyromorphite, but Les Farges mine in Limousin, France stands out as one. This seed-like habit of Pyromorphite when combined with its distinctive colour zoning - from brown to yellow - becomes unmistakably Les Farges mine. For the price, this good-sized miniature specimen is a really super, classic example of this distinctive form of Pyromorphite, and even has a small amount of white Baryte matrix - another feature of Les Farges. The whole front surface is liberally encrusted in striking colour-zoned Pyromorphite crystals ranging in length from 1 to 5 mm, and most also display characteristic slightly hoppered, frayed terminations. A few of the crystals have snapped off at their base, hence the reduced price, but it still presents the classic Les Farges mine form very well.
