A classic Bunker Hill mine Pyromorphite, of rich yellowish-lime-green intergrown crystals forming a tumbled-like appearance. The Bunker Hill mine is at Kellogg in the Coeur d'Alene District of Shoshone County, Idaho, USA. The individual Pyromorphite crystals have a well-developed hexagonal form measuring up to 1.2 cm long with some exhibiting hopper growth at their terminations and sit on an unobtrusive Quartz gossan matrix rich in rusty shades of iron. All the crystals are translucent, and the prism faces have a transparent, quite gemmy surface layer which produces an incredibly bright glassy lustre. The specimen is beautifully topped-off with a sharp euhedral hexagonal crystal and stands vertically on a narrow Perspex mount glued to the specimen's base. This small miniature Bunker Hill Pyromorphite is simply delightful.
