Abundant microcrystals of dull apricot orange to brownish-red Pucherite are aggregated and scattered over much of the ferruginous slate matrix. Pucherite, a rare bismuth vanadate, forms dozens of submillimetre crystals, the largest of which is 1 mm in length. This miniature is from the type locality at Pucher Shaft, Wolfgang Maaßen mine at Schneeberg in Saxony, Germany. The specimen comes with a Tausch label (No. 470). Please note, this specimen contains two noticeable cracks. Although the specimen seemed robust, for caution these cracks have been stabilised in our lab by injecting tiny amounts of a hardener and executed so that it is not visible.
