Great Proustite is amongst the holy grail of mineral collecting and those found at the Alberoda mine in the Saxony mining district during the times of the DDR are both extremely rare and extremely desirable. This lovely smaller cabinet specimen has super sharp lustrous crystals to 3 mm in length richly covering the matrix. Its red colour is very strong, showing that it has been cared for especially well with not too much exposure to direct sunlight. Despite the Proustite crystals being small, their coverage and quality is phenomenal and relative to other Proustite crystals these are exceptional. Without question the finest Proustite that I have seen from Alberoda. Ex Christian Weise Collection.
