A great example of the silver sulpharsenide, Proustite, in which its true, deep blood-red colour is finely exhibited. A 1 x 1 cm mounded cluster of reasonably well formed and terminated Proustite crystals sit on a bed of light tan Dolomite crystals, these occurring as sharp rhombic crystals and clustered rosettes of curved blades. Partly surrounding the Proustite are tarnished- bronze metallic fine granules of probable Native Silver. From the AG-mine in the Marienberg District of Saxony, Germany. Note: 'AG-mine' might just refer to one of the silver mines in the Marienberg District; this name is that recorded on the accompanying label.
