Grey-black metallic globular clusters of the very rare mineral Plagionite are richly distributed over a miniature bed of modified octahedral Galena crystals from the Pfannenberger Einigkeit mine, at Salchendorf in North Rhine-Westphalia. Plagionite is a lead-antimony sulphide and forms hemispherical micro-cockscomb clusters of 2 to 3 mm diameter, of deep lead-grey. Scattered over the Galena and between the Plagionite are micro-crystals of brassy Chalcopyrite. A superb specimen and example of this very rare species, Plagionite.
