A vein section of rusty, iron-stained Quartz is totally encrusted across its top surface with prismatic crystals of dark green Olivenite. From the classic mine, Wheal Unity, part of the St. Day United Mines in the parish of Gwennap, Cornwall, England. The Olivenite crystals are uniformly about 5 to 7 mm long and emanate from radiating clusters forming a solid lustrous mat. This specimen 'shouts' Cornwall and is a splendid example of this copper arsenate.
