This fine crystallized Native Copper specimen is from the Eagle Harbor area in Keweenaw County, Michigan. Eagle Harbor is renowned for having produced very fine crystals of Native Copper from multiple occurrences - some mines, others underwater offshore fissure veins. This small cabinet specimen is full of crystallographic detail, with fine branching feathery Native Copper displaying a lovely deep orange to orange-red colour, possibly indicating some surface oxidation to Cuprite. The exact source of this specimen is not recorded, but Ex David Hardman collection it probably dates to pre-1990s.
