The Blue Ridge summit copper deposits in Pennsylvania, USA have been known about for centuries but despite repeated attempts they could never be worked successfully unlike the more famous Michigan deposits. This cabinet-sized specimen is a great demonstration of how the Native Copper occurs - as rich hackly masses and thin sheet-like veinlets within Milky Quartz with dark green Chlorite. Compared to their Michigan counterparts specimens from Pennsylvania are rare. It comes from the David Hardman copper collection.
