Although both Dolomite and Mimetite are well-known from Tsumeb mine the combination of both together is actually quite unusual but makes for quite an attractive display. This very large miniature specimen shows a bed of pearlescent, pale cream coloured, small, slightly curved, or saddle-shaped rhombic crystals of Dolomite upon which bow-tie like sprays of bundles of acicular, orange to golden-yellow and cream, Mimetite crystals sit. The Mimetite crystals stand out really prominently, with a fine, bright, silky lustre and rich colour. The largest spray, which is orange, reaches 1.2 cm in length but is missing the tip at one end, but all of the other sprays are fully-terminated, either as natural single wheat sheaf-like bundles or, doubly-terminated bow-ties. An ususual and yet attractive Tsumeb combination.
