Two lustrous mounds (to 1.8 x 1.5 cm) of deep emerald green Malachite crystals sit on a botryoidal matrix of turquoise to light creamy blue-green Chrysocolla. From the Mashamba West Mine in the famous Katanga (now Shaba) region of the DRC.The Chrysocolla forms a thick solid crust with massive Malachite clasts. Individual Malachite crystals are glassy and somewhat globular, making an attractive specimen from this classic African locality.
