The rare Fe-Mn-Mg phosphate Ludlamite was only found at the Cabe'a do Cachorro Mine in S'o Gabriel da Cachoeira, Amazonas, Brazil in the past few years and is amongst the finest Ludlamite in the world. This very fine cabinet specimen has in excess of 18 crystals of over 5 mm across and many exceed 1 cm. The crystals display many varied forms, usually with stepped growth and are a highly lustrous, glassy grass-green. They sit on a uniform carpet of greenish-brown Siderite micro-crystals which cover the flat surface of a rusty orange-tan fine conglomerate matrix. An excellent specimen and example of Ludlamite.
