Dark bottle-green, lustrous, Libethenite crystals to 5 mm on edge, richly coat a mixed matrix of granular milky Quartz, grey residual sulphide, and Libethenite. The Libethenite forms as both single and stacked pseudo-octahedral orthorhombic crystals, often with nested triangular faces. Where edges catch transmitted light, flashes of electric lime-green are visible. A little iron-stained Quartz frames one end of the specimen. Miniature in size, this is actually an extremely rich specimen of Libethenite, with excellent large crystals for this species from its Type Locality at Ľubietová (Libethen) in Banská Bystrica County, Slovakia. Ex Simone and Peter Huber Collection, no. 2454. A very old partial number label affixed to this specimen (no. 18..) indicates that it is an old-time piece.
