After the Type Locality at Leadhills, Scotland, the most sought after specimens of Leadhillite are those from Mammoth-Saint Anthony mine in Tiger, Arizona, USA. This is a combination of the overall significance of the Mammoth-Saint Anthony mine to American mineralogy, the size and quality of the Leadhillite crystals found there and also the unusual pale blue colour seen in some of the specimens. This miniature specimen is a stunning example both of the most desirable colour, but also of prominent crystals reaching up to 8 mm in length. There is actually far more Leadhillite on this specimen, grading from colourless-white crystals with a prominent zone of pale blue Leadhillite overgrowing the white. A few micro-crystals of blue Boleite occur in association. This is a really fine American Leadhillite of the most desirable colour. It was previously in one of the most well-respected private German collections.
