A rich crust of vivid turquoise to powder-blue Langite overgrowing deep leaf-green micro-crystallized Brochantite on a light grey slate matrix. From the well-known locality at Allihies, the Castletown-Bearhaven Copper mines on the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland, the Langite also forms patches of micro-crystals within the Brochantite sub-layer. A rich and fine example from Ireland. This old specimen is accompanied with a Samuel Henson (1848-1930) of 277 Strand, London, labelled 'Langite, Cornwall'. Although misattributed as to its locality, this label has been retained with the specimen because of its historic interest.
