This superb Inesite is from the N'Chwaning II mine, South Africa - one of several manganese mines in close proximity (including N'Chwaning I mine and Wessels mine) that have produced superb crystallized Inesite specimens. Small cabinet in size it displays the wonderful colour and form of this complex calcium manganese iron silicate oxide hydroxide hydrate. Almost the entirety of the display surface is covered in fan-like to radial spherical aggregates of acicular to bladed Inesite crystals showing a pale flesh pink internal colour and darker pink outer surface. These aggregates reach 1.5 cm in diameter and are in superb condition. Small colourless crystals of Baryte are also present and the matrix is a Calcite-cemented breccia. An extremely rich Inesite. Ex Eike Pätz collection.
