Neudorf, at Harzgerode, in Harz, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany is one of the best-known 19th century localities for fine Galena crystals with specimens now considered a true European classic. This off-matrix miniature sized cluster of intergrown matrixless cubo-octahedral Galena crystals is in exceptional condition for its undoubted age, the only damage being on the back where it was trimmed from its host rock at some point. From the front it is immaculate and presents as a lovely grouping with a light frosting of tiny Quartz crystals preferentially developed upon its original upward-facing surfaces - known as geopetal deposition. Its other faces are bright blue-grey metallic and very fine. An extremely high quality Neudorf classic.
