Perfect octahedral Fluorite crystals to 1.1 cm on edge are almost entirely masked by a sugary coating of micro-crystallised milky Quartz overgrowing both the Fluorite and the larger Quartz crystals on which the Fluorite has developed. This lovely and unusual specimen is from the Kara-Oba tungsten deposit in Kazakhstan. Where the sucrosic Quartz coating is missing, pale peppermint patches of Fluorite are visible. A great specimen of Quartz-covered Fluorite on Quartz from Kara-Oba.
