An unusual and stunning specimen of very pale green-grey, almost-colourless Fluorite crystals covering an elongated matrix of a little ironstone mixed with granular fluorite from Heights Mine near Westgate, Weardale, County Durham. The main feature of this specimen is a Fluorite interpenetrant twin, elongated from the cubic form, with the larger crystal measuring 2.5 x 1.6 x 2.0 cm and with mirror-bright faces. All the Fluorite crystals have unusual etch marks over their surfaces in the form of dots and dashes and 90-degree elbows. Many of the Fluorite crystals are coated in a very thin frosting of sucrosic, drusy micro-crystals of Quartz.
