A good example of a rarer form of Fluorite from Heights mine by Westgate in Weardale, County Durham. The specimen is unusual for this locality due to its colour and crystal morphology. Typically green, this Fluorite is a pale lilac with deeper-lilac edges and translucent multi-shaded interiors of white and lilac. A cube and part cubes to 2.4 cm on edge frame a larger, markedly elongated and well-developed crystal measuring 4.5 x 4.1 x 2.6 cm. Crystals from the Heights mine are normally equant or near-equant, making this a rarer example from this classic locality.
