Pale sky blue, slightly rounded cubic crystals of Fluorite form two clusters on a massive Quartz matrix coated with micro-rhombic crystals of Calcite, from Yaogangxian mine in Yizhang County, Hunan Province, China. The Fluorite crystals are developed to about 1 cm on edge, yet because of forming a linked group, tend to appear larger. The Fluorite is essentially translucent with included transparent zones lending a rather gemmy look from a short distance. A bright, clean white area of exposed Quartz on the display surface indicates where a similar Fluorite crystals has pinged-off, probably during collecting. The surrounding Calcite is pervasively dusted with micro-crystals of Clinochlore or possibly Cookeite.
