A fine, large miniature to small cabinet specimen, of pale violet-purple to colourless, glassy Fluorite from Llamas Quarry, Asturias in northern Spain. The Fluorite crystals, which reach nearly 1 cm across, display a number of complex crystal forms, ranging from straightforward cubes, to elongated cuboid crystals, modified cubes with bevelled edges and others with a more exaggerated development of the dodecahedral faces. Crystallographically, this specimen is absolutely fascinating and downright weird. The crystals sit nicely for display upon a matrix of fine-grained Fluorite/Quartz. Certainly one for the Fluorite aficionado.
