A fine interpenetrant twin Fluorite crystal aesthetically positioned on top of this miniature from Heights mine at Westgate in Weardale. The Fluorite crystals measure to 1.6 cm and are of a pastel purple with a darker purple colour zone near the outer faces. The Fluorite is associated with white-grey Calcite on a matrix of Goethite-limonite replaced Limestone. Under LWUV the Fluorite twin fluoresces with purple faces framed by bright lilac-white edges, appearing like a wire-frame computer model. A most attractive Fluorite from Heights mine.
