Fowey Consols was a mine famous for both its stunning Chalcotrichite but also amazing Bismuthinite specimens too. This miniature Cuprite var. Chalcotrichite is clearly very old as demonstrated by the small typed no. 16 label affixed to it, but also has a more modern no. 029-F written on Tip-Ex too. Forming the classic delicate matted red hair-like aggregates in iron oxide-rich gossan with Quartz. Ex Malcolm Southwood Collection no. MS 2014.230.
