A pleasing specimen of bright orange-red bladed Crocoite crystals measuring to over 1 cm and intergrown over a typical rusty-orange-brown matrix from the old Berezovskii mining area in Russia. Nestling amongst the Crocoite are minor spots of earthy green Pyromorphite and what looks to be a stubby Cerussite crystal. Berezovskii is the type locality of Crocoite, originally discovered in the Tsvetnoi mine, although the actual mine from which this specimen came is unknown. It does however come with an old handwritten label written in copperplate script.
