Sharp, slightly curved rhombohedral crystals of pinkish-lilac Cobaltoan Smithsonite to 1.1 cm on edge cover the display surface of a white, massive Smithsonite matrix. From the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, the crystals display delicate colour zoning, parallel and close to the edges, in alternating light bubble gum pink and pale mauve. The crystals have a high lustre but can also display a slightly waxy appearance in certain light. A lovely Cobaltoan Smithsonite from Tsumeb.
