Like a flower in bloom, this very lustrous colorless to slightly smoky-brown cyclic-twinned Cerussite crystal sits perfectly for display upon a thumbnail-sized piece of matrix. The four 'petals' each extend outwards as wedge-shaped crystals, the largest reaching 1.2 cm in length and the whole spray reaching 2.2 cm in diameter. The wedge-shaped crystal faces are exceptionally reflective with the faces joining each twin showing lovely linear growth lines. The Cerussite crystals are slightly contacted on at least two ends otherwise this would certainly be a competition quality world-class miniature, but it remains a shockingly beautiful demonstration of how fine twinning in carbonate species can be. Ex Weyand Collection.
