A heavy Galena-rich Quartz veinstone matrix is thickly coated with intergrown lustrous and glassy Cerussite crystals. From the famous mining district of Leadhills in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, the Cerussite takes on a pale lemon-yellow tinge which greatly adds to its appeal. The thin platy crystals grow to about 1.2 cm and form a tangled attractive mass. The base of the specimen is of a texture and is partly coated in thin crusts of orange-yellow Pyromorphite.
