A fine miniature of intergrown, single and twinned, dark chocolate brown Cassiterite crystals, all with a brilliant metallic lustre and measuring to 2.2 cm. This gorgeous specimen is from the Cínovec-Zinnwald orefield, an area which straddles the German-Czech Republic border, stretching beneath the Krusné Hory Mountains in Saxony and the Ústí Region of Bohemia. Characteristic of Cassiterite, the crystals appear generally jet black, yet when tilted, many edges and surface patches transmit various dappled shades of clove brown. A beautiful cluster of Cassiterite crystals on a Muscovite mica matrix from the Cínovec-Zinnwald orefield.
