A fine, large, sharply formed Calcite crystal with a pseudohexagonal habit on Galena from the classic St. Andreasberg area in Germany. The Calcite crystal measures to 5.7 cm wide, 3.8 cm deep and 4.7 cm high and is a chunky beauty! It is colourless with a gemmy to translucent prism while both pinacoid faces are opaque snowy-white. The pinacoid faces have a largely matt lustre while the prism faces display a most attractive waxy to pearlescent lustre with smooth cellular surface growth patterns. This is a particularly well-formed and showy Calcite from St. Andreasberg and is aesthetically delightful.
