Hot pink 'Cobaltoan' Calcite forms as a thin zone over white-colourless intergrown sharply formed rhombic crystals of Calcite measuring to 7 mm in an open-ended bowl-like cavity. From the Aghbar mine in Ouarzazate Province, Morocco, the underside of the specimen has areas of an undefined metallic grey mineral and some country rock. The intensity of the pink Calcite is spectacular, a characteristic of some specimens from this mine. This specimen has been tested to check if its colour is natural and this has proved to be the case. It is a real showstopper which will instantly grab the attention of any onlooker!
