Well formed translucent off-white scalenohedral crystals of Calcite measuring to 3.7 cm, are scattered and clustered over a creamy to light tan, biscuit coloured Dolomite matrix. Micro-crystals of metallic golden-yellow pyrite are also in association, many displaying an elongated rod-like habit. The underside of the matrix bears linear hollow epimorphs of former Baryte blades amongst which small but quite gemmy tabular crystals of Baryte still remain. A terrific Calcite specimen from the New Glencrieff mine at Wanlockhead, at the western extreme of the Leadhills-Wanlockhead orefield.
