This is a magnificently rich small cabinet-size old-time Russian Beryl var. Emerald specimen from the Krupskoye Deposit displaying a pleasing group of stout crystals measuring to 3 cm tall, and showing a banded green shaded structure parallel to the pinacoid terminations. The matrix is a characteristic black-dark brown Biotite schist. It is accompanied by a label from Anton Berger's (1870-1956) private collection.
