Barytocalcite is rare. This specimen comes from the occurrence at the Admiralty Flats in Nentsburry mine, Cumbria. A cellular, mid-grey matrix is completely overgrown with rounded blades of Barytocalcite coated with chalky-white Baryte to 1.5 cm. The blades form a mound of divergent sprays, with no damage to any of the crystals. An excellent example of this scarce barium species, and comes with a Gregory, Bottley and Lloyd label
