A well-formed group of truncated, tabular Baryte crystals standing on edge across a crystallised Quartz matrix, from the Kremnica mining area in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. These mines exploited antimony, gold and silver. The Baryte crystals measure to around 2 cm, displaying white phantoms within a pastel bluish-grey gemmy zone. These have formed over a rich bed of stubby and spiky Quartz crystals to a few millimetres tall. Under LWUV the Quartz fluoresces patchy dull straw yellow. It’s a fine example of Baryte on Quartz from the Huber collection with an accompanying label.
