This lovely miniature of golden yellow Baryte crystals is from the famous Pöhla mining area in the Schwarzenberg District of Saxony, Germany. Probably most likely from the Pöhla-Tellerhäuser mine, this was worked for uranium within a complex geological environment of skarns, greisen veins and hydrothermal phases within Cambrian-Ordovician mica schists. The Baryte crystals measure to 3 cm long, are translucent and usually double terminated. They cover an epimorph which forms the corner of a former Fluorite crystal. A terrific miniature of golden Baryte from Pöhla, Germany with the bonus of the sharp epimorph beneath.
