Renowned for some of the world's best crystallized Aurichalcite specimens, the 79 mine in Dripping Spring Mountains, Gila Co., Arizona rose to prominence during the late 1960s and early 1970s. This miniature-sized triangular-shaped specimen is extraordinarily rich in large (for the species), pale turquoise-blue, lath-like to feathery crystals in sprays rising from the oxidized veinstone matrix. A smaller area at one end of the specimen features smaller rounded microcrystalline sprays of Aurichalcite. For a smaller specimen this is extremely rich and well-crystallized, and colourful too.
