This is not only a big, showy, crystallized Adamite from the world's premier locality - Ojuela mine in Mexico - but it displays a really unusual replacement texture: imprints, or epimorphs, after large bladed Legrandite crystals. Obviously, one would have wanted the Legrandite to still be present, in what would have been world-class sized crystals, but as this is not possible the evidence of their mere presence in such size is amazing. Two main imprints can be seen on the top and side of the specimen. The Adamite is not bad either, forming a very thick layer of lovely lime-green to yellow-green resinous crystals aggregated into domed structures on a rusty gossanous base. The botryoidal Adamite masses reach about 3.5 cm in diameter and show many small aligned crystal faces on their surface. An unusual rounded wax plinth is attached to the back of the specimen for display, but this is easily removed. An extremely fine, and unusual cabinet-sized Adamite from Mexico.
