Intermixed Acanthite with Stephanite form a rich silver-black metallic crystalline group of part octahedral Acanthite crystals and more granular Stephanite. These two minerals very similar in appearance, Acanthite a silver sulphide and Stephanite a silver sulphosalt and once intermixed are difficult to distinguish. This terrific mix of the two species form globular clusters arched over a dome of darkened creamy rhombic Calcite crystals. This fine large thumbnail is mounted on a bevelled clear acrylic base.
