Published by Lithographie in 2008, American Mineral Treasures was the brainchild of Gene Meieran and Shields Flynn and accompanied the historic display at the 2008 Tucson Gem and Mineral Society show. Edited by Gloria Staebler and Wendell Wilson this magnificent book brings together chapters on all of the great mineral finds in the USA during the second half of the 20th century, but also an important chapter on the history of mineral collecting in America. Illustrated with high quality images of some of the most important specimens from the finds, in museums and private collections, it also features location shots to place these 44 locations into context across its 254 pages. Reportedly out of print by the end of 2008, this special linen edition hardback version was limited to 100 books. An important book for collectors of US minerals.
