The accolade of the world's finest Zircon crystals must surely go to those from Seiland Island in Finnmark, Norway for their size, perfection in symmetrical form and rich glossy burgundy-red colour, but, the recently discovered Zircons in alkaline pegmatite in the Gridone - Monte Limidario area in Switzerland offer an entirely different perspective. This stunning small cabinet display specimen features a single perfect 2 x 1.7 cm Zircon crystal of a very different form. Pale pink in colour and with a mottled translucent appearance, the complex form of its crystal faces makes for fascinating study. Ex Stefan Weiss collection and ex Teilung Girlanda, collected in 2018. A stunning alpine Zircon.
