Very different in style to most Zincolivenite, this richly crystallized layer from Tsumeb mine - the world's premier source of this rare species - is translucent to opaque, rather than transparent and glassy, and its colour is a mid-green, or leafy-green. The crystals are bipyramidal or wedge-shaped, but are coalesced and intergrown giving the impression of scaly, or rounded aggregates. This is certainly a very different habit of Zincolivenite than we usually see, but is still really well crystallized and quite showy for a rare species that falls mid-way between Adamite and Olivenite in composition. Large miniature in size this is a very rich example of this rarity and appears to have some Malachite in association. Ex Kessler Collection.
