The freestanding Wulfenite crystals on this splendid Tsumeb miniature present an extremely unusual rich orange-brown colour, but more so than that they have a magnificent resinous lustre, yet are mirror bright. Internally, their extreme translucency reaches almost transparent, like small window panes. Perched dramatically upon a dark grey, dull mass of sulphide ore, these crystals reach 1.1 cm on edge. The two main crystals are in extremely fine condition, with slight chipping to the corner of one of them, but they display superbly. There are other crystals too, including several more complete ones along with one large fragment overhanging the edge at the back of the specimen. For their size these are certainly not the largest of Wulfenite seen from Tsumeb, but they have a very special quality which few Tsumeb Wulfenites achieve. Ex Weyand collection.
