With an intensity in colour to rival even the very best Red Cloud Wulfenite, this stunning miniature display specimen from the remote Jianshan mine in the Turpan region, Xinjiang, China is sure to catch a few looks. Discovered in 2006, this now classic Chinese Wulfenite occurrence rapidly hit the headlines in an article in The Mineralogical Record (Jan-Feb 2007 China II issue), but the discoveries only lasted for about six years and unfortunately the majority of specimens recovered were damaged beyond recovery, even with extensive trimming. What few high-class specimens that remain are now much cherished, even miniatures like this stunning piece. Consisting of a pure aggregate of bright glossy, and colourful, sharp, thin tabular to bladed crystals in superb condition, this really does look the business. A rosetted cluster of many 1 to 1.2 cm wide platy crystals, some with nicely truncated corners, sits alongside a dominant, large, 2.5 cm wide thin, window-like stepped tabular crystal, with its central crystal 1.9 cm on edge with extensions behind on either side. This beautiful Chinese Wulfenite displays exceptionally well with its custom-made Sunnywood acryllic display stand. Its main crystal is significant in size compared to most that came out and its colour is magnificent. A very choice Chinese Wulfenite.
