This showy and magnificent cabinet specimen displays masses of tiny, dark bluish green Willemite crystals, widely distributed over an rusty, orange tan ferruginous matrix with a generous scattering of bluish green Rosasite micro-crystals. From the now closed and flooded Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia, this is a spectacular example of the zinc silicate Willemite in association with Rosasite, a copper zinc carbonate hydroxide. At Tsumeb, Willemite could occur in spectrum of colours from dark to light blue, numerous shades of green and even through to bright yellow! This example is one of its darker manifestations.
