A large miniature specimen of Vuonnemite-bearing pegmatite from Mont Saint-Hilaire, Québec, Canada. Although not specifically recorded as such, most mineral specimens from Mont Saint-Hilaire came from the Poudrette quarry, which is one of the most mineralogically diverse places on Earth - containing no fewer than 439 different species. Vuonnemite is an extremely rare, and complex, fluorosilicate phosphate, containing sodium, titanium and niobium. It rarely forms crystals. This specimen hosts several cream coloured interlocked freestanding platy Vuonnemite crystals reaching 6 to 7 mm in length. This is an excellent example of well-crystallized Vuonnemite from many collectors' favourite locality.
