Excellent platy crystal rosettes of dark olive green Volborthite form a very rare combination with acicular turquoise green Brochantite crystals, from the relatively recent (2014-15) find at Milpillas mine at Cuitaca in Sonora, Mexico. Overall, the rosettes of Volborthite crystals measure to 1.4 cm on snow white Dickite covering a light grey Limestone. Volborthite from Milpillas mine is regarded as probability the best for its species in the world. The Brochantite forms as very fine, hair-like acicular crystals around the base of the Volborthite, in long delicate sprays. Despite being so fragile, the Brochantite is fairly well protected by the Volborthite. A superb small miniature of Volborthite with Brochantite from the Milpillas mine in Mexico.
